What is the two-stage housing program?

Our housing program consists of two stages: the Starter Village and the Good Samaritan Tiny Home Homeownership Program. Participants start in the Starter Village, where they receive support and stability, and then transition to the Good Samaritan Tiny Home Homeownership Program, where they earn a tiny home through volunteer service.

Participants typically stay in the Starter Village for 6 to 12 months, depending on their progress and readiness to move to the Homeownership Program.

What is the Homeownership Program?

In the Homeownership Program, participants volunteer at least 21 hours per week with locally approved charity organizations. Over two years, they earn "mortgage credits" towards the ownership of a tiny home in one of our villages.

Participants earn their tiny home by completing a total of 2,100 hours of volunteer service over two years. These hours are converted into mortgage credits, which are used to acquire their tiny home.

Who is eligible for the program?

Eligible participants must be drug-free, not engaged in alcohol abuse, and have completed a certified rehabilitation program. Proof of completion and a commitment to maintaining sobriety are required.

The Starter Village features free-standing, 8' x 10' one-room units with keyed entrance doors, a Community Center with a kitchen, dining room, and meeting rooms, and a beautiful Communal Garden all within a gated community setting.
